Privacy policy
Effective . Pressed Passport is made by AiluroTech (Chung Kang) in Houston, Texas. Write to us at support@pressedpassport.com.
The short version
- Your passport lives on your iPhone: your pennies, where and when you pressed them, your journal and your photos. This version of the app sends none of it to us.
- There’s no account and no sign-in. No advertising, no analytics, no tracking. We sell nothing.
- Purchases go through Apple. We never see your card or your Apple Account.
- Accounts that sync your passport between devices are planned for a later version. They’ll be optional, and this policy already says what they’ll send.
What the app keeps on your iPhone
- Your pennies: each one’s design, the place you pressed it, the state, the date, its stamp and your notes. You type the place yourself; the app never asks for your location.
- Your journal entries, and the milestones you earn.
- Your passport’s holder name and address, if you fill them in.
- Photos of your pennies, if you add them. The app keeps its own copy, made smaller, with the location and camera details a photo can carry removed. A photo you take in the app isn’t saved to your photo library.
Deleting the app from your iPhone erases all of it. If your passport ever won’t open and you choose to start a fresh book, the old one is set aside on your iPhone, not deleted, until you delete the app.
What leaves your iPhone
Only what goes to Apple, and none of it to us:
- Purchases. The App Store handles buying, restoring and renewing, and tells the app what you own. Apple takes the payment.
- Photos you choose from your library. If one is stored in iCloud Photos, your iPhone may download it from Apple first.
- Your iPhone’s backup. A backup to iCloud or to a computer includes this app’s passport and photos, as it includes any app’s. That’s between you and Apple, and we never see it.
- Crash reports. If you’ve turned on Share With App Developers in your iPhone’s settings, Apple shares crash reports and app usage statistics with us. They don’t include your pennies, journal or photos. We use them only to find and fix problems.
What we never collect
Your location, your contacts, your advertising identifier, analytics or crash reports of our own: the app collects none of them. We don’t track you across other apps or websites, and we don’t sell personal information or share it for advertising.
Accounts, when they come
Accounts aren’t in the app yet. When they arrive, signing in will be optional and the app will keep working without one. This section will then gain the rest: how long we keep things, and how to delete your account in the app.
With an account, the app will send these to our database service, Supabase, in the United States, so your passport can sync between your devices and come back on a new one:
- your email address, which can be a private relay address from Sign in with Apple, and an identifier for your account;
- your name, if you give one or Apple shares it, and your passport’s address;
- your pennies, journal and milestones, including the places you typed, which can show where you’ve been;
- your photos, stored privately, so that only your account can read them;
- whether you have Annual or Lifetime, which our server checks with Apple.
Like any server, ours will also see the IP address each request comes from, in logs kept for a short time. We won’t sell any of it or use it for advertising.
Who else handles your data
- Apple: the App Store and its payments, your iPhone’s backups, and iCloud Photos.
- Vercel hosts this website and sees the IP address of each visit.
- Namecheap holds our domain and forwards mail sent to our support address on to our mailbox, which is with a mail provider of its own.
- Supabase, once accounts arrive, as above.
Mail you send us
Kept in our mailbox for as long as we need it to answer you. It holds the address you wrote from, the name your mail program gives, and whatever you tell us. Ask, and we’ll delete it.
Children
Pressed Passport is for collectors of every age. This version sends us no personal information about anyone, children included. Before accounts arrive, this section will say who can make one.
This website
This site sets no cookies and runs no scripts. It has no analytics, and it loads nothing from anyone else: the fonts are served from here.
If you live in California or Delaware
We don’t sell personal information or share it for advertising, and no one else collects information about what you do across other apps and websites over time. Because nothing here tracks you from one site to another, a Do Not Track signal from your browser has nothing to switch off, and you’re treated the same with it as without it. Apart from mail you send us, which we’ll show you or delete if you ask, we hold nothing about you to review or correct: your passport is on your iPhone, not with us.
Changes to this policy
When this policy changes we post the new one here, with the date it takes effect. If a change alters what we collect, store or share, we tell the App Store first where the law requires it, as Texas’s does.
